The Power of the Press (newspaper production in the 1920s)

I’m veering off my normal documentary reviews with this one.

It’s a drama about a murder and a cub reporter—but for three glorious minutes, this Frank Capra film becomes a love letter to old-school journalism.

Giant presses roar, hot lead sizzles, and deadlines don’t wait—because in 1928, news really moved.

It’s at the 15 min. mark.

And it’s a superb description of the newspaper production process circa the late 1920s.

Thanks to the team at Exaudi for pointing this out in The Resistance of the Truth of the Person .
