Remember Elizabeth Holmes? The Theranos founder who was convicted of duping some of the richest and most powerful people in the world?
She invited avant-garde filmmaker Nathan Fielder (“Nathan For You”) to live in their guest house and film her family (including their newborn child!) during the 34 days leading up to her going to prison.
This is the strangest trailer I’ve ever seen.
Trailer for “You Can See Everything”
You Can’t Make This Sh!t Up
-
- Holmes invited Fielder, co-director Lance Oppenheim and a small film crew into the home she shared with her partner, Billy Evans, just 34 days before she reported to federal prison. The filmmakers basically moved in.
-
- Holmes and Evans wanted the cameras there. They believed that if the filmmakers saw enough of their private life, they might understand Holmes differently than the rest of the world did.
-
- What started as 34 days of filming somehow turned into a three-year project—and a 174-minute documentary.
Director’s Note: Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim co-directed this 174-minute A24 documentary. Fielder is the guy behind “Nathan For You” and “The Rehearsal” where it’s often hard to tell where reality ends and the experiment begins. Oppenheim directed “Spermworld” and “Ren Faire.”
Release Date: September 6, 2026 (Telluride Film Festival); October 16, 2026 (theatrical release)
Other Unique Stuff
- The project remained secret for years. A24 finally revealed it through a surprise screening at the Telluride Film Festival on September 6, 2026.
- Even that screening was weirdly secretive. Attendees didn’t initially know what the mystery film would be, and phones were locked away before the screening.
- The documentary was reportedly made for nearly $8 million and financed by A24.
