- After Luka Magnotta posts a video of himself killing two kittens with a vacuum cleaner, ordinary people on Facebook launch their own international manhunt. They study almost every object visible in his videos trying to figure out where he lives.
- In 2012, Magnotta murders 33-year-old Chinese international student Jun Lin, films the killing, and mails parts of Lin’s body to Canadian political offices and schools.
- Magnotta flees Canada and sparks an international manhunt. Police finally catch him in a Berlin internet café—where he’s reportedly reading online stories about himself.
