A woman is found dying on the side of an Oklahoma road. Her husband says her name is Tonya Hughes. Except that isn’t her name. And her husband isn’t really her husband.

- Franklin Delano Floyd kidnapped 5-year-old Suzanne Sevakis, raised her as his daughter under fake names (and later married her).
- Suzanne grew up as “Sharon Marshall.” She was a gifted student who earned a full scholarship to Georgia Tech. Floyd stopped her from going. By age 20, she was dead after a mysterious hit-and-run.
- Four years after Suzanne died, Floyd walked into her son Michael’s elementary school with a gun. He kidnapped the 6-year-old boy and school principal James Davis, tied Davis to a tree and disappeared with Michael. Floyd later admitted that he killed Michael that same day.

Other Unique Stuff
- Suzanne’s old high school friends become surprisingly important to the case. They recognize photos of “Tonya Hughes” as their old friend Sharon.
- Old photographs become actual pieces of the puzzle. Pictures from different periods help investigators connect people who were living under completely different names.
Wrap Up:
“Girl in the Picture” is one of the craziest identity mysteries I’ve seen in a true crime doc. Every time you think you’ve figured it out, another name, kidnapping or buried secret makes it worse.
